GTA 6: Will Grand Theft Auto VI Be Announced At The Superbowl? – RealSport101

It has been 7 years since GTA V was first released on PS3 and Xbox, the game is due to get a next-gen port this year too.

Due to the amount of time, fans are highly anticipating the announcement of GTA 6, clinging on to any bit of information they can get their hands on.

Is the official announcement imminent?

GTA 6 Being Announced At The SuperBowl?

The current rumour is that GTA 6 will be announced at the upcoming SuperBowl on February 7th.

It is expected that the location of the game will be Vice City, which is based in Miami, Florida.

SuperBowl LV will be taking place in Tampa, Florida.

The half-time performance this year will be The Weeknd, one of the biggest artists in the world right now.

He sparked his own GTA 6 rumours last year with his music video for Blinding Lights.

In the music video, the words “GTA 6 Trailer” were briefly seen, a little random to include in a music video unless it was an early hint at future events.

When it comes to viewership, very few events top the SuperBowl.

Last years event saw 99.9 million people tune in to watch the SuperBowl on tv, with millions more watching online.

This would put the announcement of GTA 6 in front of 100 million+ people, which company wouldn’t want that kind of exposure?

Although it could be argued that Rockstar doesn’t need the exposure, GTA V sold over 130 million copies so there are plenty of people already waiting for the next game.

But if you’re going to announce the next entry in one of the biggest gaming entities of all time, the SuperBowl is certainly the biggest platform to do it.

Will It Happen?

If I had to put money on it I would say, no.

Although I couldn’t win a one-man raffle, so don’t take gambling advice from me.

It would be incredible to see and would blow up the internet with the hype it would generate, but I don’t see it happening.

I do expect that we will see an official announcement this year though, with the game releasing in 2023 or 2024.

Rockstar are also focused on other GTA content including the next-gen GTA V port.

GTA Online Heist
KING: GTA V is still as popular as ever after 7 years.

There is also rumours that the GTA Trilogy Remastered is in development, which includes GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas.

That would definitely tide players over until GTA 6 is finally released.

If anything, I could see Rockstar swerving people and making us believe a GTA 6 announcement is coming and then announce that instead.

But only time will tell, I guess we will just have to wait until the SuperBowl to find out if these rumours are true.
