Ruth Langsford ‘grateful’ after having coronavirus vaccine: ‘The jab took seconds and was painless’
Ruth Langsford has revealed she has had her coronavirus vaccine and is ‘grateful’ to be ‘one step closer’ to finally being able to see her mother because of it.
The This Morning presenter, 60, shared a photo of her getting the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine administered as she told fans of her joy at getting the jab.
She wrote: ‘JUST HAD MY VACCINE!! Feel SO grateful. Thought it was a scam message at first as I wasn’t expecting to be called until March!
‘Thank you everybody, staff & volunteers, at the vaccination centre in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey…a quick, well organised and very friendly experience.
‘The jab took seconds and was painless. Thank you @stephanieshervington for being so lovely….you & your colleagues are doing an amazing job.
‘Another step forward to being able to see my Mum again I hope. Thank you @nhsengland@astrazeneca @oxford_uni #covid#vaccine.’
Although the vaccine roll-out is well under way, current lockdown and social distancing measures remain in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus until it is deemed safe to relax them.
Ruth recently opened up about how hard it has been not being able to see her mother throughout the pandemic, except with a screen between the.
She told OK about her visits to her mothers care home, revealing: ‘We have a Perspex screen between us and I have to wear a mask, gloves and an apron.
‘She’s been amazing, but she’s of that wartime generation. She’s 88, she’s very stoic about it all. But I do miss her.’
Last year, Ruth had shared a video of her giving her mother a kiss and wishing her a happy Mother’s Day through the glass of her home.
She wrote: ‘Locked down but not forgotten! Happy Mother’s Day Mum….love her!’
