Warning: spoilers ahead for episode six of WandaVision.

WandaVision fans have a theory about John Krasinski following the latest episode of the Marvel TV series… which, if it turns out to be true, would be absolutely fantastic.

In episode six of the Disney Plus show, S.W.O.R.D. agent Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) tells FBI agent Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) and astrophysics expert Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) that she has received a response from an aerospace engineer who she contacted for help.

In the previous instalment, Monica explained to Jimmy and Darcy that the unnamed aerospace engineer could help her find a safe way back into the fake reality created by Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), which Darcy has nicknamed the ‘Hex’.

Some viewers have speculated that the aerospace engineer in question could be none other than Reed Richards, otherwise known as Mr Fantastic from the Fantastic Four, which Marvel Studios has the power to incorporate into the Marvel Cinematic Universe following the firm’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.

But to add even further excitement to this theory, for a long time numerous fans have expressed their view that A Quiet Place star John would be a brilliant choice for Reed Richards.

And so, many are hoping Monica’s mention of her scientific-minded contact could mean that John is going to make his grand entrance in WandaVision.

This isn’t the only clue that points towards John joining the cast of the mind-boggling MCU series.

In each episode of WandaVision, Wanda and Vision (Paul Bettany) have been shown living in different eras of sitcom-based realities, beginning with the 1950s and transitioning – so far – all the way through to the 1990s/early 2000s.

Fans were ecstatic by the nods to Malcolm in the Middle in the most recent instalment, with Wanda and Vision’s children Billy (Julian Hilliard) and Tommy (Jett Klyne) speaking directly to the camera, just like Frankie Muniz in the sitcom.

It’s believed that episode seven will pay homage to mockumentary-style programmes like The Office and Modern Family.

So what better way to draw influence from The Office than by featuring one of its biggest stars, John, who played paper salesman Jim Halpert on the show from 2005 to 2013?

Need even more convincing? John previously expressed interest in playing Mr Fantastic, telling ComicBook.com in March 2020: ‘I would love to do it. I think to be a part of the Marvel world would be amazing anyway, and the fact that people would even consider me for that level of a part would be amazing.’

However, he added that at the time, he’d had ‘no conversations’ about anything of the sort.

We wonder whether anything has changed since then?

While excitement is rife that Reed could make a cameo in WandaVision, the aerospace engineer in contact with Monica could be another character entirely.

Other possibilities include Fantastic Four villain Dr Doom, X-Men character Beast… or perhaps someone who hasn’t even been considered.

In the world of WandaVision, where a different version of Wanda’s brother Pietro Maximoff turns up at the front door, anything is possible.

WandaVision is available to watch on Disney Plus.
