Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page is set to host Saturday Night Live for the first time next weekend.

The 31-year-old will present the NBC sketch show on Saturday February 20. He’ll be joined by Bad Bunny, who will perform as the musical guest.

Regé-Jean follows Regina King, Dan Levy, John Kransinski, Kristen Wiig, who have all hosted Saturday Night Live in 2021.

The Duke Of Hastings actor has become a household name thanks to his acclaimed performance in the Netflix period series.

Bridgerton has become one of the biggest TV hits of recent times, with more than 82 million tuning in to watch Regé-Jean as the dashing Duke on the show.

The show sees Regé-Jean and co-stars Phoebe Dynevor and Nicola Coughlan find love among the London elite.

Before Bridgerton, Regé-Jean appeared in Casualty, Fresh Meat, Waterloo Road and 2016 series Roots.

Bridgerton has led Regé-Jean to be linked with James Bond, with the actor’s name thrown into the ring of possible replacements for when Daniel Craig leaves the role after No Time To Die’s release.

After initially addressing the rumours and insisting he was ‘flattered’, he recently revealed he couldn’t talk about the role on The Graham Norton Show – fuelling further speculation.

Meanwhile, Bridgerton creator Julia Quinn has spoken about her novel being brought to life onscreen, revealing that it all happened ‘by accident’.

Julia also recently said that she wants more sex scenes between Daphne and the Duke in season two, after sidelining them in her novels.

Netflix confirmed that a second season of Bridgerton was on the way earlier this year, announcing that filming will begin in the UK in spring.

Saturday Night Live airs on NBC. Bridgerton is available to watch on Netflix.
