Nicki Minaj’s father Robert Maraj dies aged 64 ‘after hit and run accident’
Nicki Minaj’s father Robert has reportedly been killed after a hit and run accident in New York.
TMZ reports that Robert Maraj, 64, was struck while walking between Roslyn Road and Raff Avenue around 6pm on Friday night by a car that kept driving on.
He was taken to hospital ‘in a critical condition’ but succumbed to his injuries over the weekend.
The rapper, 38, has not yet commented, however TMZ say a rep for Nicki confirmed Maraj’s death.
The Chun-Li rapper recently welcomed her first child, a son, with husband Kenneth Petty last year.
She recently opened up about painful breastfeeding and the challenges of motherhood.
In a Twitter Q&A she revealed she was in labour ‘all night’, adding that she ‘pushed for 2 1/2 hours’.
‘I was actually in labour all night but all they did was let me sleep until I dilated far enough to push,’ she tweeted.
‘He had no problem breastfeeding,’ she said.
‘He latched on in the hospital which was very surprising to me. I was afraid maybe he wouldn’t.
‘But breast feeding is very painful. Pumping is too. Women make this stuff look way too easy. Mums r really superheroes [sic].’
Metro.co.uk has contacted Nicki’s reps for comment.
