1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton comes out as pansexual to boyfriend Jerry
1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton has come out as pansexual to her boyfriend Jerry.
The 34-year-old made the admission to her boyfriend of two years, along with the support of her sister, Amy and her husband Michael while eating out at a restaurant.
In a recent clip, Amy can be seen breaking the news to Jerry about her sexuality, as she explained to him, ‘there’s some stuff’ they need to talk about.
After he reassured her that she can tell him ‘anything’, she told him: ‘I am pansexual’.
After a moment of hesitation, Jerry asked: ‘What is it?’
Tammy, who rose to fame on the TLC show with her sister, turned to Jerry to explain what she meant.
‘It means love is love,’ she continued. ‘I would date anybody whether they’re transgender, straight, gay.’
A confused Jerry went on to ask if that means she would date a transgender man.
‘Yeah. Or girl. It’s about how they make me feel, not how they look,’ Tammy added.
Despite the awkward silence, Jerry told his girlfriend that it didn’t bother him at all.
‘It is what it is, Tammy. I still love you though,’ Jerry added.
In a VT, later on in the programme, Tammy explained to the camera that she initially thought was bisexual.
‘I started talking to one of my friends and she told me she was pansexual,’ she said.
‘I asked her what it meant. It means you love everybody, not just the same sex. And I was like “I guess I am too” because I wouldn’t mind being with someone that’s transgender.’
TLC’s 1000-lb Sisters focuses on Kentucky siblings Amy and Tammy Slaton, who have a combined weight that exceeds 1,000 pounds.
According to TLC, the show centres around 406-lb Amy, who wants to start a family with her husband but is having trouble due to her weight and health issues.
Tammy, who weighs 605-lb, who ‘needs help with everyday tasks’ was forced to move in with her sister an brother-in-law after being admitted to hospital.
The reality series follows the sisters in their mission to lose enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery.
