Bow Wow starting WWE training with legend Rikishi for new wrestling career
Bow Wow seems serious about his WWE dreams – and he’s teaming up with Rikishi to make it happen.
The 33-year-old rapper has claimed he is ‘locked in’ to work with the legendary star – who was a major player in the company’s famous Attitude Era – and learn the ropes before his big wrestling debut.
Taking to Twitter on Monday, he wrote: ‘I have officially decided to train with my boy @TheREALRIKISHI at his gym in California to get ready for the @WWE. LOCKED IN (sic)’
As part of the industry’s famed Samoan dynasty in the Anoa’i family, Bow Wow is making the right connections in the early days of his big career change.
As well as being a three-time tag team champ and one-time Intercontinental Champion, the Hall of Famer is father to current superstars Jimmy and Jey Uso.
And his cousins include late greats like Yokozuna, as well as the likes of Roman Reigns and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson himself.
Bow Wow is certainly in good company, and he’s doing all he can to stir the pot while throwing out the idea of a match with WWE Raw duo of Damian Priest and music sensation Bad Bunny.
He tweeted: ‘Hey @ArcherOfInfamy tell your little pet bad bunny I’ve been watching… and im not impressed. i got @TheRealMorrison back! Stop hiding from the REAL mr bunny (sic)’
Former NXT North American Champion Priest fired back: ‘Ha! Not impressed huh? Every Monday we’re living what you’re chasing homie. But by all means, keep shooting blanks on Twitter. #LiveForever #WWERaw (sic)’
Bow Wow shrugged off the response, and insisted plans are already in motion for his own big moment in the ring.
He teased: ‘Don’t have to chase whats in place. See you soon my friend (sic)’
This all comes after the star recently made it known he wants to become a wrestler once he’s released his upcoming final album.
Since then, he’s been involved in a war of words with plenty of big names, including RETRIBUTION’s T-Bar.
After the latest exchange with Priest, Bow Wow said: ‘A lot of the wrestlers who are coming for me on twitter should be happy im going back and forth.
‘Most have like 70k followers. Im actually helping you become a bigger name (million dollar man laugh) how you on RAW with 50k followers. Something not adding up. (sic)’
