Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Nicholas Brendon refuses to comment on Joss Whedon allegations as he undergoes surgery for paralyzed penis
Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Nicholas Brendon has said he ‘isn’t ready’ to speak about the allegations against Joss Whedon as it is ‘very personal’ for him.
The actor, who is about to undergo surgery after hurting his back in an accident, played Xander on the supernatural series, written and created by Whedon.
In recent days, Buffy and Angel star Charisma Carpenter accused Whedon of allegedly creating a ‘hostile and toxic environment’ on set.
Her words prompted other stars, including Buffy herself Sarah Michelle Gellar, James Marsters, who played vampire Spike and Michelle Trachtenberg, who starred as Buffy’s sister Dawn, to speak about the claims.
Nicholas has so far remained silent, however in a lengthy video posted to his Facebook page he shared he wouldn’t comment until he could ‘come up with a statement that represents me’, as he ‘had a relationship’ with Whedon.
He said: ‘I’m not speaking on Joss yet. It’s very personal for me, so I’ll speak on that when I’m ready to speak on that. Because he and I had a relationship.
‘It’s a big part of my life, a very emotional part of my life and I want to give it the proper respect and time that it deserves.
‘When things happen like this with social media and stuff, it’s hard for me. it makes me sick. It’s not just something I want to make a comment on, do you know what I mean?
‘If you don’t mind, I’m going to get some spinal surgery tomorrow and heal and come up with a statement that represents me.’
Turning to his health battle, he explained he is feeling ‘nauseous and hung up’ after a recent injury which makes him ‘always feel like I gotta shit’.
He continued: ‘My anus is kinda paralysed and so is my penis, which is weird. I gotta sit down to piss because I don’t know if I’m shitting or pissing.
‘It’s crazy. Good times is what I say.’
It comes after Nicholas’ partner Sarah Allison took over his social media, sharing a post on Twitter and Instagram saying he was injured after slipping on ice.
Angel star David Boreanaz was the latest to weigh in after co-star Charisma’s allegations, writing on Twitter that he would ‘listen and support’ her.
Whedon is yet to address any of the allegations.
Metro.co.uk has contacted Whedon’s publicist for comment.
