Cara Delevingne’s friends had a very satisfying Christmas, after being gifted sex toys by the model.

The 28-year-old joined the sex tech company Lora DiCarlo last year as co-owner and creative adviser, and is loving her new role.

Her friends have been loving it too, as Cara has been sharing the goodies from her job with her nearest and dearest.

Speaking on the OTHERtone podcast with Pharrell Williams, Fam-Lay and Scott Vener, the Suicide Squad actress said: ‘My friends are like, “I know what I’m getting for Christmas.”

‘You know, I was sending around sex toys. I was like merry orgasm to you, hope you enjoy.’

Cara got involved in Lora DiCarlo to help ‘take away the stigma of female pleasure’, after noticing that many sex toy companies were owned by men.

She said: ‘Women usually are sensitive creatures, right? All these sex toys were made and they’re very like, they’re just too intense.

‘You know, the whole thing about, like, vibration…sex [is] like so much about rhythm and all these things.’

Cara said that her company preferred the term sex tech rather than sex toys, ‘because it’s not juvenile’, and said that toys weren’t just for using solo, and could help partners find what turns each other on.

She said: ‘I would never say what I liked, or ask for what I wanted. I would assume that somehow they would eventually figure it out. Like, no, that’s not how it works.

‘You need to ask, you need to talk about it, you know?’

The model added that her new job had led to her having conversations about sexuality with her friends, saying: ‘I’ve had the most interesting conversations with my guy friends, it’s fascinating. I never used to talk about it.’

Previously speaking about teaming up with Lora DiCarlo, Cara said: ‘This is something I’ve been thinking about for a very long time, and it’s taken a while to find the right people to do it with.

‘I grew up pretty repressed and English in terms of sexuality. That relationship that you have with yourself is the most important one in the world.’

A year before Cara joined the company, they were hit by controversy when an award given to them for their toy the Osé Robotic Massager at CES was revoked.

The toy won an honoree designation in the robotics and drones category of the trade show’s Innovation Awards, but it was later rescinded, with the Consumer Technology Association saying that anything ‘immoral, obscene, indecent, profane or not in keeping with CTA’s image will be disqualified’.

The decision was later reversed, and sex tech was shown at the latest CES event.
