‘I Was Disappointed’: Luka Doncic Opens Up on Letting the Last Second Tying Opportunity Slip Against Blazers
Luka Doncic continued his hot form against the Portland Trail Blazers. Unfortunately, his contributions failed to save the Mavs from a close defeat.
This loss pushed their record to 13-15, and many are starting to wonder if the Mavericks are really a top contender in the West.
In their recent defeat to the Blazers, the Mavs could have tied the game in the dying minutes. Luka, who had 44 points in the game, attempted a three-pointer but unfortunately missed the shot that would have leveled the two sides.
Luka Doncic on missing the potential game tying basket
Following the unfortunate miss, Mavericks superstar, Luka Doncic, expressed his views on the shot. In the post game interview, he was asked his feelings as the shot didn’t go in.
“It doesn’t matter if I am confident or not you know the shot went out. Obviously I was disappointed, I thought it was in and it went in and out. So you know I was disappointed and I thought, man, I should have made that shot.”
Luka Doncic has been nothing but sensational this season, and he is averaging 29.1 points per game. Moreover, Luka was asked about the secret behind his remarkable performances in the 2020-21 NBA season. Doncic replied:
“Just getting into my shot, using the legs, just let it go and just trust in your shot.”
With this defeat in the bank, the Mavericks have now dropped to the 10th spot in the Western Conference. Considering the fierce competition in the league, the organization need to reevaluate its strategy and trade for better pieces around its young star.
Considering their inconsistency, even if they make the playoffs, they won’t have a good shot of making a deep playoff run. Can the Dallas Mavericks turn around their fortune in the second half of the season? What are your thoughts on this?
