Bridgerton star Rege-Jean Page lands next big role in Dungeons & Dragons movie
Bridgerton star Rege-Jean Page has landed his next big role in the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons blockbuster.
The actor, who is hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend, is said to have signed on to play a lead alongside Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez, say The Hollywood Reporter.
Dungeons & Dragons, a popular role-playing fantasy game, will be directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley.
Fans of the game will expect to see all sorts of fantastical creatures such as elves and orcs however it is unknown if the Dungeon Master – who oversees gameplay – will be included.
It might be tricky to work in the multisided dice too…
Rege-Jean was one of the breakout stars in the Netflix drama, set in the Regency-era, for his role as Simon Basset, the love interest of Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor).
He has become the latest popular actor to be linked the role of James Bond to take over from Daniel Craig after No Time To Die.
After initially being ‘flattered’ by the rumours, he has since decided to keep schtum.
‘Bridgerton is the only “B” word I am allowed to say. I am not going to talk about the other “B” words!’ he said on The Graham Norton Show.
Season two of Bridgerton is beginning to take shape, meanwhile, with the announcement that Simone Ashley has been cast as Kate Sharma, the love interest of Anthony Bridgerton.
A description of her character reads: ‘Newly arrived in London, Kate is a smart, headstrong young woman who suffers no fools — Anthony Bridgerton very much included.’
Anthony and Kate’s romance will be the focus of the new season, with Simon and Daphne taking a back seat.
