Peaky Blinders star Sophie Rundle confirms she’s pregnant as Phoebe Dynevor leads congratulations
Peaky Blinders star Sophie Rundle has confirmed she is pregnant.
The actress, 32, who is best known for playing Ada Shelby in the hit BBC series, revealed exciting news she is expecting her first child with fiancé Matt Stokoe.
Taking to Instagram, Sophie shared a couple of cute snaps of her cradling her baby bump, as she told fans their new addition is due to arrive this spring.
Sophie – who fell ill with coronavirus at the end of last year – penned: ‘New friend on the way. Arriving here with the daffodils and the sunnier days of spring 🍼🌞 O high riser, my little loaf. ✨.’
Fans flocked to the comments of her post to congratulate, with her celebrity pals, including Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor, also sending their well wishes.
Phoebe, who plays Daphne Bridgerton on the Netflix series, posted: ‘Congratulations ❤️❤️❤️.’
Sophie’s Jamestown co-star Max Beesley posted: ‘Wow 🙌.’
She and husband-to-be Matt have been dating since 2016, after meeting on the set of Jamestown, where she played Alice Kett and he starred as James Read.
The couple casually announced their engagement in May 2019, when Sophie let slip in an interview that Matt – who also starred alongside her in Bodyguard and was cast in The Musketeers and Cursed – had popped the question.
Sophie, who fans will recognise from series like The Nest and Gentleman Jack, revealed at the time: ‘We got engaged a couple of weeks ago. The whole wedding thing is weird, though.
‘Everyone expects you to be desperate to be a princess for the day – that’s not really my scene.’
News they are having a baby follows rumours the pair have married, after they were both spotted wearing what looked like wedding rings, in pictures obtained by Mail Online.
Neither Sophie or Matt have commented on speculation they’ve tied the knot.
Sophie has instead been busy filming for the highly-anticipated sixth season of Peaky Blinders, as filming finally resumed following a series of setbacks and delays due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It’s since been confirmed that the sixth series will be the show’s last.
Peaky Blinders creator and writer Steven Knight revealing: ‘We believe this will be the best series of all and are sure that our amazing fans will love it.
‘While the TV series will be coming to an end, the story will continue in another form.’
