The Masked Singer’s Ne-Yo reveals his four-year-old son was the only family member to spot he was Badger on the show

THE Masked Singer’s Ne-Yo has revealed that his four-year-old son was the only family member to spot that he was Badger on the show.

The 41-year-old singer finished the ITV series in second place on Saturday night, losing out on the top spot to Joss Stone – who was behind the Sausage mask.

Ne-Yo was unmasked as Badger during Saturday’s Masked Singer final

Judges and viewers alike were stunned to see Ne-Yo on the show, and he has now confessed that only one member of his family worked out that it was him.

Speaking to Mark Wright on Heart FM, the star explained that he’d already told his wife about the job as he continued: “The rest of my family, I kept it from them because I thought it’d be cool to see if they actually knew it was me.

“The only person who caught it was my four-year-old son, he said: ‘That bear sounds like daddy!’

“My mum called me, she was watching, and she said: ‘Shaffer caught you!’, I was like: ‘What!’”

Ne-Yo went on to admit that he thought his older children would work it out, but they didn’t have a clue.

He shared: “My older children are 10 and nine and I figured maybe them but no, it was him – the only one.”

The singer shares 10-year-old Madilyn and nine-year-old Mason with ex Monyetta Shaw.

He is dad to two-year-old Roman in addition to Shaffer with wife Crystal Renay.

Badger had been the most difficult identity for The Masked Singer judges and fans to pin down this series – with viewers torn right up until he was unmasked as Ne-Yo.

Guest judge Nicola Roberts – who won the show last year as Queen Bee – was stunned to see her teen idol beneath the Badger mask, and could not contain her excitement.

While Nicola was convinced that it was the US singer throughout her one-night stint, other guesses throughout the series included James Blunt, Jamiroquai, and Anderson Paak.

Joss was also a surprise celeb under the Sausage mask, with some convinced that it would actually be Stacey Solomon or Sheridan Smith.

She wowed fans after host Joel Dommett revealed that she’d taken part in the show, which was filmed in September, while heavily pregnant.
