Dua Lipa has been named as one of Time magazine’s Next 100 Most Influential People and says appearing on the cover is a ‘true honour’.

The singer, 25, unveiled her Time cover on Twitter, in which she stuns in a floaty pink chiffon dress and heels as they dubbed her a ‘pop prodigy’.

She wrote on Twitter: ‘Thank you @TIME and @kylieminogue for your kind words.

‘A true honour being on the cover #Time100Next, shot by Micaiah Carter, styling by Lorenzo Posocco, hair by Jen Atkin Hair makeup Samantha Lau, nails by Kimmie Kyees.’

Dua’s profile feature in the magazine was also penned by pop legend Kylie Minogue, who had high praise for the young ‘shining star’.

Kylie said of Dua’s achievement: ‘Today, she is dancing hand in hand with the zeitgeist, having carved with laser-like precision her place in the cultural landscape.’

The Spinning Around star added that she had appeared as a guest on Dua’s Studio 2054 livestreamed concert which impressed her with its combination of the futuristic and retro.

Kylie added: ‘Her achievements are all the more remarkable given that she is 25 years of age.

‘She’s kind, cool and smart. She’s a bona fide pop behemoth. And I, like millions of others, look forward to more, and even more, from La Lipa.’

Dua’s hugely successful year led to her being named on the Next 100 Most Influential People list, which also saw her music being played at Joe Biden’s recent presidential inauguration.

She told Time: ‘Having a song in the inauguration playlist is really exciting – what a time to be alive to see the first female vice president. It feels cool to play a small part in it.’

Dua Lipa’s edition of Time magazine is available now.
