Framing Britney Spears smashes Sky viewing figures record less than 24 hours after release
Framing Britney Spears has already broken viewing records less than 24 hours after its release in the UK.
The eye-opening retrospective of the singer’s early career and subsequent ‘breakdown’ which lead to the ongoing conservatorship held by her father Jamie Spears became finally made its way to the UK on Sky Documentaries last night.
As Britney fans become a tighter community than ever before, here in the UK over 220,000 of us tuned in for the UK premiere, making the documentary the highest watch show in the channel’s history.
Framing Britney Spears has stunned viewers, looking back at some of the singer’s disturbing earlier interviews as a teen star being probed about her breasts and sex life.
The film also follows the mother-of-two’s mental health issues, which appeared to spiral when she was cruelly painted as a bad mother in the press before losing custody of her two children to ex-husband Kevin Federline.
The episode was inspired by the #FreeBritney movement, which has become an increasingly passionate force driven by the fanbase campaigning for their idol to escape her father’s conservatorship.

Until last week, Jamie had full control of his daughter’s $16millon fortune, and she was unable to make any important life decisions without his approval.
On Thursday February 10, however, a judge upheld a previous ruling that made a financial company a co-conservator for the singer.
Since Framing Britney’s release, several stars have since apologised for jokes they made at Britney’s expense while Justin Timberlake released a statement blaming the misogynistic system he’s a product of for throwing her under the bus and publicly slut-shaming the Baby One More Time hitmaker following their break-up.
Britney is now said to be making her own documentary, while Netflix has also been tipped to make its own film.
Framing Britney Spears is available to stream on NOW TV.
