Ayesha Curry fires back after being called a hypocrite over nude photo
Ayesha Curry has clapped back at critics who claim she’s hypocrite after posting a nude photo on Instagram.
The wife of Golden State Warriors basketball star Stephen Curry raised a few eyebrows over the weekend when she shared a snap from her latest project, Sweet July.
The chef and mom of three posed nude for the picture which she captioned: ‘From our @sweetjuly BODY feature. So many natural wellness and skin remedies in this issue!’
In anticipation of comments regarding her lack of clothing, she added: ‘@stephencurry30 got to pick the photo. Shins and shoulders y’all, shins and shoulders.’
The 31-year-old was showered with praise from her friends and fans about the image, however others immediately took issue with the decision to show so much skin.
One person questioned the star’s faith as they wrote: ‘I thought you and your husband was a Christian couple.’
‘Very much so,’ she responded.
Another user then brought up past comments Ayesha made as they asked: ‘Is this the same person that was telling women to cover up a few years ago?’
‘Never did that,’ Ayesha clapped while she went on to agree with another user who claimed that she is covered up in the photo.
The comment being brought back up was in reference to the tweet Ayesha wrote in 2015 as she stated: ‘Everyone’s into barely wearing clothes these days huh? Not my style. I like to keep the good stuff covered up for the one who matters.’
However, Ayesha when on to clarify her comments in another tweet writing, ‘Regardless of if you like my “style of clothes” or not (which I don’t care) please do not tear women down and degrade them… Not cool peeps.’
The chef, who shares children Riley, Ryan, and Canon with husband Steph, tried to remind trolls about her comments as she wrote on Instagram: ‘When you realise I was talking about a person wearing nipple pasties leaving a Starbucks and thought it was hilarious … but no one cared to ask.’
