The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has revealed he’s undergoing surgery for a shoulder injury, three years after he was involved in a mountain bike accident.

It appears the Mr Brightside singer has been suffering from an injury since the accident, which happened in 2017.

Announcing news of his surgery, Brandon said in an Instagram live Q&A with The Killers drummer  Ronnie Vannucci Jr.: ‘Some of you may have seen the picture I posted and some footage when I went over the handlebars on my bike and an injury from that has manifested itself.

‘I have a torn labrum in that shoulder so I am going under the knife in a couple of weeks to get that taken care of.’

Brandon, 39, will have to wear a sling during the recovery period which will take two months. The musician revealed he’s previously had decompression surgery on his ‘bad shoulders’, which involved ‘shaving’ off part of his bone to alleviate his pain.

He didn’t directly specify which accident caused the injury but appeared to be referencing the 2017 incident.

At the time, Brandon tweeted a photo of his bloodied and bruised face from the official Killers Twitter account.

The caption read: ‘When mtn [mountain] biking down hill, don’t squeeze left brake.’

During the Q&A, Brandon addressed the band’s plans to embark on a UK tour this spring but admitted it’s looking likely that it’ll be rescheduled again due to the coronavirus pandemic.

‘We hope May happens. It’s not looking great,’ he said.

The tour will support The Killers’ most recent album, Imploding The Mirage, which was released in August and reached number one in the UK, becoming their fifth album to do so.

So naturally, fans are anxious to catch The Killers on-stage again but they should brace themselves for another delay as many other artists have begun rescheduling tours for 2022.
