Trump hails ‘terrific’ Rush Limbaugh on Sean Hannity tribute show to radio legend – as ex-president teases future plans
FORMER President Donald Trump on Wednesday lauded the late Rush Limbaugh as “brilliant” and “terrific,” and teased his own future political plans.
Trump shared his admiration for the conservative radio icon who died of advanced lung cancer that morning, in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity.

“Totally brilliant guy,” Trump said of Limbaugh, who was 70 years old.
“He could just talk for three hours and everybody found it spellbinding.”
Trump said he got to know Limbaugh when he was coming down an escalator with his wife Melania.
“He was there from the beginning,” Trump said.

“A very, very terrific man.”
Trump added that Limbaugh “loved this country” as well as his wife.
“He’s going to be missed by you and by me and 21million,” the 45th president said.
Trump also told Fox News that Limbaugh was “very, very brave” and that “he in theory could’ve been gone four months ago, he was fighting until the very end.”

“Whether they loved him or not they respected him,” he said.
Trump awarded Limbaugh the Medal of Freedom in his February 2020 State of the Union address, one day after the conservative radio icon revealed his diagnosis.
“Here tonight is a special man, someone beloved by millions of Americans who just received a Stage 4 advanced cancer diagnosis,” Trump said at the time.
“This is not good news, but what is good news is that he is the greatest fighter and winner that you will ever meet.”

Limbaugh was a staunch Trump ally and dined with him at his golf club in Palm Beach on some holidays.
On Wednesday, Trump told Hannity that “we have a lot to talk about” but that “today’s all about Rush.”
However, the former president did comment briefly on various topics in other interviews.

In a phone interview with Newsmax TV, Trump would not reveal if he will run for president in 2024, but painted a promising outlook should he move in that direction.
“Too early to say – but I see a lot of great polls out there,” Trump said in the segment that was dedicated to remembering Limbaugh.
A Morning Consult/Politico poll released on Tuesday found that 54 percent of Republican voters said they would support Trump in the 2024 presidential primary election if he runs.

Trump also told One American News Network that his political movement “is very strong and it’s getting stronger.”
The former president was acquitted in his second impeachment trial on Saturday on a 57-43 Senate vote.
Since Trump was not convicted, he can run for president again.
