42 teams of two players each will compete in this FIFA 21 online tournament, with at least two more competitions planned for later in 2021.

Over 480 teams signed up for the FIFAe Club World Cup (and no, that’s not a typo), but after competing in the qualifiers and playoffs, only 42 remain and will be heading to the zone finals next week to determine which FIFA 21 team is truly the best.

The teams have been divided into six zones (zones one, two, three, and six consist of four teams each, while zones four and five have 14 and 12 teams respectively), with each team made up of two players, so cooperation will be key.

From February 24 to February 26, the various teams will play against each other in multiple matches, with only the top two of each zone being allowed to take part in their respective zone finals.

The zone finals themselves will run over the weekend on February 27 and February 28. The winners of each zone will not only be crowned FIFAe Club World Cup zone winners but also earn their share of the $350,000 (nearly £250,000) prize money.

‘In the next few days, we will see the most exciting, talented young esports players the world has to offer and take to the stage to create their club legacy,’ says Christian Volk, FIFA’s Director of eFootball and Gaming.

Fans eager to watch the matches themselves can do so via FIFA.gg, with the main feed scheduled to begin on February 26 at 4:30pm CET/3:30pm GMT to coincide with zone four and five’s knockout stages.

And if you want to know exactly which teams are competing in which zones, the website also features a full schedule of the matches.

FIFA has also already confirmed that it will be holding two more tournaments later in the year, including the FIFAe World Cup, which will focus entirely on individual players rather than teams.

FIFA 21 is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. It will release for Stadia later in the year.
