Love Island star Jamie Jewitt took it upon himself to design his fiancée Camilla Thurlow’s engagement ring and has now revealed why meaning behind it is so special.

The reality star won himself some serious husband-to-be points not only with the cute babygrow proposal, but also by going out of his way to create the perfect ring for his future wife.

Jamie and Camilla announced their engagement on Instagram, with Camilla describing her new ring as the ‘most perfect ring that only the person who knows me the very best would be able to design for me’.

Naturally, fans were curious and now Jamie has explained how each part of the ring represents Camilla and their romance.

He roped in the help of Camilla’s family and her friend for advice on the final design which reflects how ‘rare and unique a human being’ she is.

Showing the ring off in all its glory, Jamie revealed: ‘Having known that @camillathurlow was a rare and unique human being, I really wanted her ring to reflect this. I know big diamonds were not her thing so we decided to make the ring elegant and understated like her.’

He explained: ‘Being a natural beauty we thought the leaf design would best represent this, and in keeping with the natural theme we incorporated moonstones and also small brown and white diamonds to add a bit of sparkle.

‘Cam has always worn a mix of white, yellow and rose gold so we used all 3. Finally, I wanted pink tourmalines to be added (Nell’s birthstone) as little Nell has completely changed our lives in a way we could never have imagined, I wanted her to be a part of this moment and therefore this ring.’

No, you’re crying.

Sounds like he totally nailed it as Camilla couldn’t have seemed more chuffed with his choice. Confirming their engagement, she shared a selfie with Jamie and their daughter Nell wearing a babygrow that read: ‘Mummy, will you marry my Daddy?’

Camilla gushed: ‘The most perfect ring that only the person who knows me the very best would be able to design for me ❤️.

‘@jamiejewitt_ only you could totally surprise me and at the same time be exactly the wonderful person I know and love. What a perfect evening with these two, my future husband and our darling Nell 🥰.’

Camilla and Jamie met on the third series of Love Island in 2017, where they finished in second place to eventual winners Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies.

Following the show, their relationship has gone from strength to strength and the couple welcomed their first child together – daughter Nell – in October.
