Woman who can’t afford a pair of Louboutin’s reveals her sneaky hack to recreate a pair on a budget

A PAIR of Christian Louboutins are among the most sought-after shoes in the world, but they don’t come cheap.

The iconic red sole is instantly recognisable and something of a status symbol, so it’s no surprise they’ve got a hefty price-tag of £500.

Rather than save up, one woman decided to jokingly create some ‘Loubs’ on a budget – by painting a pair of heels.

The fashion fan, called Cailin, picked up a pot of specialist red paint, specifically designed for shoes, and starts painting.

She bought a cheaper pair of nude heels on PrettyLittleThing, and set about taping the edges to make sure the paint didn’t smudge.

She covers the sole in red, and after drying removes the tape to reveal her revamped shoes.

Sharing her hack to TikTok, she said: “Loubs on a budget

“Wore them for a night and none of the paint has come off.”

More than two million people have watched her paint job, with some people reckoning she’s a genius, while others claimed there’s no substitute for the real thing.

One person commented: “Work smarter not hard girls.”

Another wrote: “This is so SMART.”

A third thought: “Cobblers do this to restore the red after they’ve been scratched. Good for you, CLs are overpriced, uncomfortable and overhyped anyway.”

But disagreeing, someone else added: “Everyone’s gonna know because the bottom is rigged plus the shoes aren’t as elegant.”
