Bachelorette star James Taylor has shared pictures of his horrific injuries after being hit by a truck in a near-death experience.
The reality star was run over on Friday and feared he would be paralysed before being treated by medical professionals.
The pictures show the 33-year-old in a neck brace, with bruises and deep scrapes along his body.
James said he was ‘absolutely shocked’ to have left hospital the same day as the accident, and admitted that passers by believed him to be ‘dead’ after being hit.
He wrote: ‘Got run over by a Toyota Tundra 2 days ago in Arizona. Literally hit me and ran over my back / butt with the back right tire.
‘People who saw it said they thought I was dead when they saw the truck ramp over my body… I did too for a split second.’
James, who appeared on the ABC show in 2016, went on to write: ‘Thought for sure I’d be paralyzed. And then I just hopped right up. In the hospital the doctor said in 30 years she’s never seen anyone come in with actual tire marks on their body and walk out the same day.’
He shared a selfie while on his way to the emergency room on Instagram, before sharing more images smiling after leaving hospital.
The reality star recovered with minimal injuries and said medical staff believed he was fortunate not to suffer lasting damage.
‘Not one fracture,’ he said. ‘No internal bleeding. Just skin gone and deep bruising. She was absolutely shocked and said I must be here for a reason.’
‘I don’t know the reason but I believe God MUST have been behind it and if this isn’t the best reminder to live every day for Him then I don’t know what is!!!’
James added: ‘So thankful. Love y’all and so happy to be here with you all!!!’
James appeared in the 12th season of The Bachelorette, which starred Joelle ‘JoJo’ Fletcher and was won by Jordan Rodgers.
Meanwhile, Bachelorette star Clare Crawley recently hit back at trolls after they told her to ‘give it up’ after reuniting with ex-fiance Dale Moss.
The Bachelor airs Mondays on ABC.
