Britain’s largest family have spent £70K and counting on birthday presents alone
Britain’s largest family have revealed they have spent over £70K on birthday presents for their 22 children since their first was born 31 years ago.
Parents Sue and Neil Radford shared in tonight’s episode of 22 Kids And Counting that they always make sure to go all out for each of their kids’ special days to make sure they know they’re loved.
‘Even though we have a lot of birthdays throughout the year, we always make sure the kids have their special day,’ Sue told the camera.
‘We want to make them feel as normal as possible and they are loved and wanted and this is your day,’ Noel added.
In the brand new episode, the family celebrated Phoebe’s fourth birthday.
The main present cost £140 with a total spend of £350.
‘We’ve probably spent somewhere between £70K and £80K on birthday presents since Chris was born,’ Neil disclosed.
‘That’s an insane amount of money, isn’t it?’ Sue commented. ‘That’s not even including Christmas.’
‘Our luxury is the kids and they’re more valuable than anything really,’ continued Neil.
‘Money can’t buy what we’ve got. I think, if anything, we’re the richest parents out there, aren’t we?’
The new series of 22 Kids And Counting follows Britain’s biggest family as they grapple with life in lockdown.
In their home, everyday tasks become military operations. Dealing with tonnes of washing, enormous shopping bills and skip-fulls of nappies – no two days in the Radford household are the same.
Besides welcoming their 22nd baby, they’ve also had time to add even more to the family, including the arrival of more grandchildren and more dogs.
22 Kids And Counting continues on Monday at 9pm on Channel 5.
