Kim Kardashian calls late dad’s cell phone on his birthday as she makes first Instagram post amid divorce
Kim Kardashian shared an emotional post in honor of her late father Robert on Monday, in her first Instagram post since filing for divorce from Kanye West.
The mother-of-four wished the late lawyer a happy birthday as she admitted the sweet way in which she tried to reconnect with him.
Robert Kardashian died in 2003 and his 40-year-old daughter admitted in a touching post that she was surprised to discover that she could still remember his phone number.
Sharing a pictures of herself, her dad and her siblings Khloe, Kourtney and Robert Kardashian Jr, she wrote: ‘Happy Birthday Dad! I celebrate you every single day but today even more. So much to tell you!
‘I called your cell phone number just wondering if anyone would pick up after all these years. I actually can’t believe I remembered it. Please come visit me in a dream soon. 🙏🏼’
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star then made a heartbreaking request as she added: ‘Also can you pretty please send down a sign in the form of those symbols/birds we always talked about?!?! I just miss you sooooo much!’
Robert was a prominent LA lawyer who was part of the legal team that represented football star O.J. Simpson in his 1995 trial and acquittal for double murder. He died aged 59 in 2003 from esophageal cancer.
It has been an especially emotional time for the reality star turned mogul after she officially filed for divorce from rapper Kanye West, 43, after six years of marriage.
It was reported that the pair decided to call time on their relationship at the beginning of the year, with Kim and Kanye now moving forward with their divorce proceedings.
The former couple share four children together; daughters North, seven, and Chicago, three, and sons Saint, five, and Psalm, one.
According to TMZ, divorce proceedings between Kim and Kanye are ‘amicable’ and Kim is asking for joint legal and physical custody of their four kids.
Sources claim that Kanye is ‘fine’ with the arrangement and the pair are ‘committed’ to co-parenting together.
A rep for Kim confirmed the divorce to ABC News.
Kim and Kanye faced intense speculation with regards to their marriage, following his presidential run which saw him give an erratic speech and break down on stage, where he alleged Kim had considered aborting their eldest child North.
It led to Kim addressing husband Kanye’s mental wellbeing, following his campaign launch.
