Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek created history when she won the French Open 2020. In her second attempt at Roland Garros, she managed to win seven matches in a row to claim one of the most prized achievements in the sport. She won the title as a 19-year-old, making her the youngest player to do so since Rafael Nadal in 2005.

Recently, two-time Olympic Gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin praised Iga Swiatek player for her attitude. For a young teen to possess such attributes is commendable, and it only speaks volumes about the great accomplishments lined up for Swiatek in the coming years. Mikaela also gave the youngster some words of wisdom, which will help her grow as an individual.

The American alpine skier said, “Congrats on the 2020 French Open win. Was an amazing match to watch and a huge testament to your own physical+mental fortitude. I have learned a lot from watching your point play and composure during that match and since then.”

The 25-year-old skier spoke on the mental attributes from her experiences and said that there will be days when things do not always go as per one’s wishes since every athlete goes through good days and bad days.

Shiffrin added, “From my perspective, the mental game is always a work in progress with ups and downs but don’t forget that’s also just a part of life. We are all human, on good days and bad, and sometimes you will feel like the world expects you to only have good days and win everything.”

Iga Swiatek competed at the Australian Open 2021. Similar to the previous season, the Polish star faced defeat in the fourth round of the tournament.

With the French Open being the next Grand Slam title to be played, the 19-year-old teenager will enter the event as the defending champion.
