Phillip Schofield had This Morning guests in stitches with a naughty joke about Prime Minister Boris Johnson while discussing the recent reported behaviour of his dog Dilyn.

On Monday’s episode, Phillip and Holly Willoughby discussed reports that Johnson’s pet pooch has been misbehaving at the Chequers country residence in Buckinghamshire.

Holly said: ‘His Jack Russell-cross Dilyn has reportedly left the prime minister with a four figure bill after chewing books and messing on the floor in Chequers.’

The presenter was taken aback by the claims Dilyn ‘chewed chair legs’ and ‘mounted valuable artefacts’.

She went on: ‘Gosh…and urinated on carpets.’

Phillip joked: ‘Is that Boris?’, prompting Holly and guests Nick Ferrari and Julia Hartley-Brewer to burst out laughing.

Holly replied: ‘I can confirm that is the dog.’

Nick added: ‘The dog’s even worse, Phillip!’

The Prime Minister and his partner Carrie Symonds adopted Dilyn from an animal rescue charity in south Wales in 2019. He was 15-weeks-old when he arrived to live with the couple in London.

Dilyn is Welsh for ‘follow’, in tribute to the part of the UK where he was born.

Recently it was revealed that a photoshoot of Dilyn frolicking in the snow, shared to the Government’s official Flickr page, was funded by taxpayers cash.
