Rick and Morty writer gives epic update on upcoming episodes as fans crave season 5
Rick and Morty writer Alex Rubens has given fans an update on upcoming episodes – and we have a lot of reasons to be hyped.
The cult favourite has just finished its fourth season and now viewers are patiently waiting for new episodes to drop – with creator Dan Harmon promising we won’t be waiting two years like we have before.
In fact, writer Alex Rubens has now revealed that they’re so far ahead – they’ve steamrolled through seasons five and six.
Taking to Twitter, he teased: ‘Am I allowed to say we started writing Rick and Morty Season 7? (If not we didn’t and I’m not).’
Don’t worry Alex, we won’t tell anyone.
While coronavirus saw most of the industry grind to a halt, it seems it’s full steam ahead for the creative team at Rick and Morty.
The animated comedy is currently in production for the latest batch of episodes, with teaser clips already dropping with early sketches of what’s to come.
Speaking at PaleyFest back in October, Dan told fans: ‘Immediately after this panel, I’ll be going and reviewing an animatic for a late season five episode, and yet we are very late writing season six.
‘I’m looking at finales for both seasons and then also refining the finale of one and then the premiere of the other. So I can’t remember the differences.’
They’ve also promised fans some ‘epic canon’ will be taking place.
While we don’t know the full ins and outs of what to expect, we know that it’s going to somewhat involve Beth (voiced by Sarah Chalke), and her space alter-ego.
Or is it a clone? Therein lies the mystery.
Harmon added: ‘There’s pretty groovy things coming regarding Beth… Space Beth was not a one-off character.’
Rick And Morty is available on Netflix.
