Venmo down as customers told company ‘can’t pay user right now’ and app refuses to load

VENMO is reportedly down as customers were told that they “can’t pay” users and the app refused to load.

The problems appeared to begin at just before 1pm ET, according to Downdetector.

The money sending app was blocking users from exchanging cash with one another.

Users reported receiving error messages that read: “Sorry, you can’t pay this user right now.”

However, work to the application may already be underway as a spike in problem reports has appeared to decrease.

According to Downdetector, 46 percent of people complained that they were having trouble logging in.

Another 45 percent were having transfer issues and eight percent were having trouble with the website.
