Cash-strapped Black Lace singer Dene Michael sold his Rolex watch in tonight’s episode of Million Pound Pawn to help pay his bills amid the pandemic.

The artist, whose party hits include the likes of Agadoo, revealed he was hoping to secure some money to support him while he’s out of work due to the coronavirus by trading in the accessory.

Presenting his item to the pawn broker, Dene explained that he paid just under £4,000 for it in Las Vegas.

‘I’m looking to sell it really, if I can get a good price for it,’ he said.

‘It’s been hard work this year, so I’m looking for some money to tide me over while I’m not working.’

He then revealed his links to Black Lace.

‘I’m actually in a band. I’m in a group called Black Lace, do you remember Black Lace? Agadoo?

‘Oh gosh, I used to dance to that,’ the pawn broker gasped.

Speaking off camera about his financial situation, Dene said of his fame and former wealth: ‘You’ve just got to realise it doesn’t last forever.’

‘I need to get some money in because at the moment all of the money is running out and I just don’t know when I’ll be able to work again,’ he continued.

Dene came to an agreement with the shop owner who offered him £2,500 for his watch.

‘It’s good to get some money and it will help me on to next year and pay some bills,’ he beamed.

‘I’m sad a little bit to see the Rolex go but I’ve had my memories with it.’

Million Pound Pawn continues on Tuesday at 9pm on ITV.
