Million Pound Pawn: Woman celebrates with kebab and Stellas after pawning inherited jewellery for £150k
A woman’s life was changed forever in tonight’s episode of Million Pound Pawn when a pawnbroker revealed that her jewellery was worth over £150,000 – and she celebrated the best way possible.
Not soon after cash-strapped Black Lace singer Dene Michael sold his Rolex, Fran joined the programme to trade a pair of earrings and a watch she inherited for money to help fund her son’s nerve damage treatment.
Initially, Fran was dubious about what her items would be worth and guessed the timepiece would only be worth £10, so naturally, she was more than chuffed by the mammoth figure presented to her.
Delivering the good news, pawnbroker Dan said of the watch: ‘It’s actually quite a special model. They’ve only made a few thousand of these. I’d be prepared to pay for this watch, £85,000.’
‘No, stop messing about!’ Fran replied, completely aghast. ‘You’re going to make me cry. This is going to help so much I’ve been struggling so much with my son being ill. That would just be life-changing for us.’
Moving on to the earrings, Dan noted: ‘The diamonds are lovely. They’re really nice, they’re clean.’
He then revealed he’d offer her £70,000 for them, giving her a grand total of £155,000.
‘This is life-changing for me, it really is because it’s going to help my son,’ Fran told the cameras.
‘Will I treat myself? Do you know what, I might have a kebab and four Stellas.’
Iconic.
Million Pound Pawn continues on Tuesday at 9pm on ITV.
