Teen First Dates gets awkward as singleton rapidly forgets date’s name: ‘Is it, Jurassic Park?’
Tonight’s first episode of Teens First Date on E4 got off to an awkward start for one university student as he forgot the name of his date.
The brand new spin-off show, which welcomes young people aged between 16 and 19 to a restaurant in Manchester, saw Archie completely put his foot in it shortly after sitting down with singer Eden.
Before the potential couple ordered their food, Eden, 19, asked Archie: ‘Do you remember my name?’
‘It’s so rare your name,’ Archie, also 19, replied, clearly clutching at straws. ‘I just can’t remember it.’
Eden then challenged her date to hazard a guess, to which he responded: ‘There’s a book about it.’
‘It’s in the Bible and there’s a project about it,’ Eden hinted.
‘Jurassic Park?’ Archie guessed with a snigger.
Eden eventually gave up and reminded Archie of her name.
‘They’re obviously going to put that in the programme now and make me look like a tw*t, aren’t they?’ he quipped.
Yep, the producers really went there.
Sadly though, it wasn’t a match made in heaven for Archie and Eden, with the pair deciding there wasn’t a romantic spark between them.
Musician Eden did, however, invite Archie to one of her gigs as a sweet gesture.
Next week’s episode sees roofer Joe sits down for a meal with cheerleader and music student Katie, while Caitlyn and Baillie bond over their mental health experiences.
Teen First Dates continues on Monday at 10pm on E4.
