Dancing on Ice star Matt Evers revealed he and Faye Brookes have five hours of training left before they make their debut on Sunday.

The former Corrie star, who has been receiving high scores from the judges so far, was originally partnered with Hamish Gaman at the beginning of the competition.

However, the skating pro was forced to quit the series last week after he injured his finger while pulling up a sock.

Matt, who was also paired with Denise Van Outen, was also forced to drop out of the show after the West End star dislocated her shoulder.

After Hamish’s exit, show bosses decided to pair Matt with Faye so that she could continue taking part in the competition.

Taking to Instagram Matt shared a behind-the-scenes snap of him and Faye during rehearsals.

The photo showed a horrified Faye with her head in her hands as Matt broke the news that they had five hours of training before their first performance.

He captioned the picture: ‘When I told @faye_brookes we have 5 hours of training before our first performance.’

Faye may not look confident about their routine, but Matt’s followers were full of support and encoragement.

‘Yes Faye can do it. She’s a fabulous skater,’ one praised.

Another commented: ‘You’ll smash it on Sunday, I just know it.’

While one added: ‘I’m buzzing to see you guys perform gonna be epic partnership x.’

Earlier this week the show’s future was thrown into doubt after Jason Donovan was the latest celebrity to leave the show after a back injury.

Jason had previously been advised to rest by the show’s medical team and he missed the show on February 14.

Phillip Schofield also aired his concerns after admitting that he doesn’t know whether Dancing on Ice would return this weekend.

Despite the contestant’s injuries, ITV confirmed to Metro.co.uk that the show will go ahead as planned.

Dancing on Ice returns on Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
