Gordon Ramsay swore at a couple in tonight’s first episode of his new BBC game show Gordon Ramsay’s Bank Balance after they took their sweet time getting money on the board.

Lindsey and Vicki from Bournemouth, who confessed they’d want to spend their cash prize on opening up an animal rescue centre, annoyed the TV chef just minutes into their game.

‘Here are my thoughts,’ Gordon told the pair before they could plot their next move.

‘I love you two, by the way. I love the idea of the pet shop sanctuary but we need to get some money on the board.’

Defending their inaction, Vicki hit back: ‘We’re getting into it.’

But proving his patience had well and truly been pushed to the max, Gordon snapped: ‘Can you do me a big favour? Get your sh*t together. Please.’

Responding to his demands, a collected Vicki said: ‘We’re just playing it cool.’

Gordon then attempted to move the game forward.

‘Okay, time to pick your next zone,’ he continued. ‘Please tell me we’re thinking money.’

Viewers were in hysterics over Gordon’s savage quip and raced to Twitter to comment.

‘There it is! only took 48 minutes for an insult,’ one pointed out, while another laughed: ‘Ramsey finally swears.’

Gordon Ramsay’s Bank Balance sees contestants compete in pairs to win cash prizes. They have to answer questions in order to stack different sized gold bars onto a precarious balance board.

The more bars, the more money, with a total of £100,000 up for grabs.

The players will have their ‘poise, precision, knowledge and nerve’ tested along the way, or see their pot of cash ‘come crashing down in an instant.’

Gordon Ramsay’s Bank Balance continues on Thursday at 9pm on BBC One.
