Henry Cavill seems to be working on a secret Mass Effect project
Superman himself is hinting that he’s working on something to do with Mass Effect, but is it a movie or the new game?
Henry Cavill is a massive nerd. He may be the most handsome and heavily muscled nerd in the world but there are few other celebrities that would talk about building a PC or painting Warhammer miniatures during lockdown.
That means he tends to do a lot of nerdy projects, from Superman to The Witcher, and it seems his next one may be something sci-fi related, namely a secret project involving Mass Effect.
He didn’t announce anything officially but posted a photo on Instagram that implied he was working on a ‘secret project’, while holding what may or may not have been a script.
Since he’s sitting in a make-up chair with his Witcher wig on, the natural assumption was that it was something to do with The Witcher show on Netflix, but fans have analysed the piece of paper and it’s actually all about Mass Effect.
What’s unclear is whether he meant for that to be visible or not. The paper is only in the corner of the screen and so blurry it took some Blade Runner style zooming and enhancing from website Gamepressure to make out what it says.
But did Cavill count on people doing that or is he now apologising to EA for spoiling their big surprise? At the moment it’s impossible to tell.
Rather than being a script the paper actually seems to be a print out of the Wikipedia page for Mass Effect 3, with references to Cerberus, Reapers, Geth, and Tali’Zorah.
That doesn’t seem like something you’d normally need to print out, so did he do it specifically to give away he’s working on something to do with Mass Effect, or was it just a bit of light reading for when he’s in the bath?
And what kind of project is it exactly? There have been no hints of a Mass Effect TV show or movie and while that isn’t outside the realms of possibility, you’d expect EA to want to get the franchise back on track before they tried anything like that.
So maybe he’s working on the upcoming new game instead? The series has featured major stars before, such as Martin Sheen and Natalie Dormer.
The Mass Effect Trilogy remasters are due to be released in May, so you probably won’t hear anything about the new sequel until they’re out. But once they are it could be that Henry Cavill will turn out to be a big part of Mass Effect 4.
