Kate Garraway added a pop of colour to a dreary London day as she arrived at work.

The 53-year-old was spotted making her way into the Global studios ahead of her Smooth Radio show, earlier today.

She rocked a patterned, long-sleeved blue blouse, with a matching long, flowing skirt.

The star coupled the look with heeled mustard boots and a black face mask, carrying a blush pink coat.

Kate’s appearance comes ahead of the year anniversary of her husband Derek Draper’s coronavirus battle.

He was rushed to hospital last March with Covid-19, and was taken into intensive care shortly after, when his symptoms worsened.

While Derek is now coronavirus free, he is still in a coma, with Kate taking care of their two children by herself as he continues his recovery.

She has been supported by friends, fans and fellow colleagues throughout his health issues, including her Good Morning Britain family.

Coronavirus has wreaked havoc on Derek’s body, leaving holes in his heart and lungs – with the I’m A Celebrity star warned by doctors that he may never recover.

New pandemic guidelines in the UK mean that Kate has been unable to visit him since before Christmas

Opening up on his recovery, she said on GMB recently: ‘He’s back into a situation [of] looking at strangers in masks.

‘That’s the situation for everybody at the moment who’s got someone in hospital, it’s not unique to him. It’s tough, it’s also the same for people in care homes.

‘When you’re someone like him that is dealing with a consciousness problem and trying to emerge, I can’t help but feel like it’s not very helpful.

‘Of course, there’s no end in sight. That’s a really tough thing… There’s no one to blame, there’s no one to be angry with, it’s the situation we’re all in.’
