Mick Norcross has been laid to rest in a private funeral, a month after his death.

The Towie star was found dead at his Essex home on January 21, at the age of 57.

His family have now said their final goodbyes at a ceremony on Wednesday.

Mick’s son Mason, 19, shared a touching tribute to his late dad on Instagram, sharing a string of photos of their bond.

‘To my dad today is the day we put you to rest,’ he began. ‘I am truly lost for words you was my everything I am so grateful for everything you done for all of us you was the best dad a boy could ever ask for!

‘You was such a strong man there was so many things I wanted to say to you. I didn’t ever think this day would come that I would have to write this.

‘Ever since I left school you always wanted me in work and I tried my best everyday to go because I know I would be expecting a phone call, you would always check on me everyday no matter how bad your day was, you would keep it strong and I am so happy for that [sic].’

‘I will try so hard for you dad and I will look after mum and Hollie forever like you always told me to,’ Mason continued. ‘Thankyou for teaching me everything you did.

‘There will not be a day that goes by where I won’t think about you you have took a part from me that I will never get back, you was one special man and loved by so many.

‘I wish I could thank you for everything you done for me you gave me the best 19 years a boy could ever ask for, I will love you forever dad until we meet again.’

Mick died last month, with his cause of death being ruled as suicide – with the full inquest adjourned until July 22.

The businessman – who famously owned nightclub Sugar Hut, in Essex – is survived by his sons Kirk, who also starred on Towie, Mason and Daniel, his daughter Hollie, and his grandchildren.

Following his death, his Towie castmates shared their tributes on social media, with a statement from the show reading: ‘Everyone at Towie is shocked and deeply saddened to hear the tragic news of Mick’s death.

‘He was hugely popular with cast, crew and the audience alike. Charming, generous and host to many of Essex’s most glamorous events, Mick will be missed by us all.

‘Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time.’
