Murder in a Small Town: Mum of convicted killer Luke Mitchell living in shed with no electricity, water or TOILET
THE mother of convicted killer Luke Mitchell has revealed she’s living in a shed with no running water, electricity or a TOILET.
Corinne Mitchell is living in her former caravan accessories store after the “knock-on” effects when her son was convicted of killing girlfriend Jodi Jones.

Luke Mitchell was found guilty of murdering Jodi when they were both 14 years old in 2003.
Jodi was sexually assaulted, strangled and stabbed before having her throat severely cut in a horror murder in Midlothian.
Mitchell, who has maintained his innocence throughout, was ordered to serve at least 20 years in prison after he was found guilty of the murder despite the case hinging on circumstantial evidence.
‘My son Luke Mitchell jailed for killing & mutilating his girlfriend but I think he’s inncent’
In a new documentary, which claims to prove Mitchell’s innocence, mum Corinne told of the toll on her health after selling her house and moving into the outbuilding.
She has had two strokes and now suffers from heart problems and emphysema.
Speaking on Channel Five’s Murder in a Small Town, Corrine said: “This was a caravan sales and the shop sold caravan accessories.
“I lost everything. Started with losing my son, there’s nothing worse as a mother than watching your son being taken away from you when there’s nothing you can do.
“You can try, try screaming, try shouting, yelling. Not going to get you anywhere.
“Especially when you know he has not done anything wrong because he was with you. No one listens.
“Then that has a knock-on effect.”
Corinne told camera crews her former office is now used as a bedroom and living room she shares with her dog and “a few rodents”.
Mitchell was sentenced to at least 20 years behind bars[/caption]
And Corinne, who has lived in the former caravan sales site for six years, says she chose to move there after vandals wrecked 40 caravans after Luke’s conviction.
She said: “After Luke was convicted obviously this was an easy target. One night I got a phone call from the police, so I was up here about 3 o’clock in the morning.
“To be honest all I could do was just sit in my car and stare. It was just mind blowing, utter carnage.
“It wasn’t just a couple of broken windows, it was 40-odd caravans completely trashed.
“So I sold the house, now I’ve got nothing, absolutely nothing.

“So I’m living here. Not my ideal plan at 61 living with no electricity, no running water, no toilet.
“Unfortunately now my health is suffering because of it.”
The new doc claims to reveal cop blunders prove convicted Mitchell is innocent.
John Sallens and Michael Neill spent over a year re-examining thousands of pieces of evidence from the Jodi Jones murder case.
The ex-cops say they found “red flags” which immediately cast major doubt on Mitchell’s guilt.
And Mitchell has said he was framed and forced to confess by cops.
In phone calls from jail — where he’s serving 20 years for the horror — he said: “I was the local weirdo. It was easy to put on me.”
The convicted killer, then 14, goes on to claim two burly cops tried to bully him into admitting he slaughtered his girlfriend Jodi by screaming: “Confess you little b*****d”.
Cops believed Mitchell was obsessed with goth-rocker Marilyn Manson and the notorious 1940s “Black Dahlia” murder in Hollywood.
He was convicted by a majority verdict despite jurors being told there was no forensic evidence linking him to the killing.

Police Scotland Detective Chief Superintendent Laura Thomson said: “Following the discovery of 14-year-old Jodi Jones’ body within a wooded area in Easthouses, Midlothian, on 30th June 2003, a thorough investigation was conducted by Lothian and Borders Police.
“Extensive forensic analysis was carried out along with door-to-door inquiries and other investigative techniques and a full report of the circumstances was submitted to the COPFS.
“As a result, Luke Mitchell, who was 15 at the time, was charged with Jodi’s murder, before being convicted and sentenced in 2005.
“We are satisfied that we do not need to trace any other individuals in connection with this investigation.”
