The Boys season 3: Star Jack Quaid shares behind-the-scenes pictures as filming is officially underway
The Boys star Jack Quaid has shared behind-the-scenes pictures of himself and his co-star Erian Moriarty getting excited on set as season 3 filming gets underway.
Earlier this month, Eric Kripke, creator of satirical superhero series The Boys, confirmed that production on the third instalment was set to begin after the second season premiered in September 2020.
Eric shared the first photo from set yesterday, posting a close-up of a golden superhero statue on social media.
Jack, who plays Hughie Campbell in the programme, has followed this up with a few images of his own, taking selfies inside a car alongside Erin, who stars as Annie January/Starlight in the drama.
‘Season-Three’s greetings, everyone! We’re chilly but we have absolutely zero chill,’ he wrote on Instagram, adding on Twitter: ‘Can ya tell we’re excited to be back?’
In one of the pictures shared on Instagram, Jack and Erin are both smiling maniacally at the camera, while in the second, Jack is holding a mask with a bandaged hand.
Several fans of The Boys expressed their excitement over the show’s return.
‘Can’t wait for Season 3, you bunch of Legends,’ one person commented underneath Jack’s Instagram post.
‘These pictures make me so happy!’ another said,.
A few people expressed concern over Jack’s hand, with it being unclear whether he actually injured his hand or if he was wearing a bandage while in character as Hughie.
Jack, son of Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan, also shared a behind-the-scenes video looking back on an old scene in The Boys when he ‘watched myself get my ass kicked by an invisible man’.
In the clip, Jack is picked up from behind a shop counter and thrown onto the floor as fake blood oozes from his head.
Based on the comic book series of the same name, The Boys follows a group of vigilantes who team up against a group of corrupt superheroes.
In addition to Jack and Erin, the show also stars actors including Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Chase Crawford and Aya Cash.
The Boys is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
