‘I’d love if Tracy Beaker ends up with Ben’: Nostalgic fans reveal what they want to see in future series

Tracy Beaker fans have been busy setting their sights on what they want to see happen next in the beloved children’s series.

The no-nonsense character and her daughter Jess returned to television screens earlier this month in latest part to the story My Mum Tracy Beaker.

The chapter, which was crowned CBBC’s most successful show ever, ended with foster mum Cam marry a woman in a quiet ceremony.

While the episodes also welcomed the return of Justine Littlewood, who had an affair with Tracy’s fiancé, and ‘weedy’ Peter, hardcore Tracy Beaker fans have been thinking about who else they’d like to see make a comeback to the franchise.

‘I would quite like to see how Duke is getting on,’ Ed told Metro.co.uk. ‘Where is he cheffing now? Is Bouncer still the chef at Elm Tree House? I’d also be interested in seeing Rio Wellard as a prison reform officer.

‘Or perhaps Rio and Crash have started a business together that helps kids get over anger management issues.’

He’s also wanting to see Louise thrown back into the mix.

‘She used to bridge the gap between Tracy and Justine as she was friends with them both. Could she make a return and do the same again in adult life?’

Meanwhile, Julia is holding out hope for Tracy to fall in love with Ben, the rich kid who became best friends with Tracy in the show’s first series.

‘I would absolutely love it if Tracy ends up with Ben in her later years,’ she enthused. ‘I adored their uptown boy relationship from the early days of the series and their friendship that occurred despite their backgrounds and Ben’s mum trying to stop it.

‘Ben would have treated Tracy and her daughter far better than Football did!’

Former social worker Elaine The Pain was a total nightmare, always on hand to wind Tracy and the other Dumping Ground kids up.

But where is she now?

‘I would like to see Elaine The Pain come back,’ Laura told us. ‘I think she could be the boss of the Dumping Ground now.’

‘I think Louise would be married to Bouncer,’ she added.

While most Tracy Beaker super fans are eager to see their favourite old faces once more, fan Katie is keen to see the programme focus on more serious topics.

‘I’d probably like to see more on like relationships and some of the characters getting into some kind of gang or in trouble in some way,’ she said.

‘I’ve always wanted to see them focus on the topic of eating disorders too. It affects so many people, especially in teenage hood. It’s a really important topic dear to my heart and I believe it’s important to talk about it and teach kids about it too.’

There’s yet to be an official announcement confirming another Tracy Beaker series, but we’re all living in hope that the day will soon come.

After all, My Mum Tracy Beaker did end with a ‘to be continued…’ teaser.

My Mum Tracy Beaker is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
