Who is Pat Sajak?

Pat Sajak, 74, is a game show host, born in Chicago to a Polish-American father.

He started out his career working as a disc jockey – doing stints at various stations.

He landed a job serving in the U.S. Army as a DJ for American Forces Vietnam Network during the war, entertaining soldiers out in Vietnam.

The talented DJ was then picked up jobs as a weatherman.

It was in this role at KNBC Los Angeles that he was discovered as Wheel of Fortune’s host.

Since taking on the role as host of the popular game show, Sajak has received 19 Emmy nominations for the Outstanding Game Show Host, and has won in his category three times.

The TV host is also an outspoken conservative and Republican political donor.

His Twitter followers will know that Sajak loves to tweet right-wing jokes – particularly about climate change.

Sajak is married to Lesly Brown Sajak, a photographer, and the pair have a son and a daughter together.

According to Celebrity Net Worth Sajak gets paid a cool $15 million a year.

And he only spends four days each month filming for the show – on the basis that he gets through six shows each filming day.

How long has he been presenting Wheel of Fortune?

Sajak has been hosting wheel of fortune for nearly 40 years.

The star is signed as host of Wheel of Fortune until 2022.

He replaced former host Chuck Woolery when he left the show in December 1981.

What other TV shows has he appeared on?

Although Wheel of Fortune was Sajak’s most successful game show venture, it was not his first.

He hosted pilots for game shows Press Your Luck and Puzzlers but his role never went further.


Sajak has also tried his hand at acting. In 1983 he had a played radio host Kevin Hathaway on NBC’s long-running soap opera Days of Our Lives.

After shooting to fame with Wheel of Fortune, Sajak briefly hosted his own late-night talk show for CBS, called the Pat Sajak show.

Its success was limited, and only aired from 1989 to 1990.
