Taylor Swift has cancelled her previously postponed Lover Fest tour, saying she’s ‘so disappointed’ not to be playing the shows.

The star had planned the tour following the release of her album Lover, with it scheduled to begin in April 2020, and the concerts being postponed due to the pandemic.

However, she has now announced on Instagram that the tour will be cancelled completely.

‘I love coming on here to tell you good news, or to share a new project with you,’ she wrote.

‘It’s not my favourite thing in the world to have to tell you news I’m sad about. I’m so sorry, but I cannot reschedule the shows that we’ve postponed.

‘Although refunds have been available since we first postponed the Lover Fest shows, many of you hung onto your tickets and I too hung onto the idea that we could reschedule.

‘This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone’s plans, and no one knows what the touring landscape is going to look like in future. I’m so disappointed that I won’t be able to see you in person as soon as I wanted to.

‘I miss you all terribly and can’t wait til we can all safely be at shows together again.’

Lover was released in August 2019, with Taylor melting fans hearts with the sweet ballads and love songs.

Since, she’s been incredibly busy despite the pandemic, releasing two more unexpected albums, Folklore and Evermore, which broke Billboard chart records.

As if that wasn’t enough, the star is re-recording her back catalogue, beginning with her second studio album, Fearless, and has already dropped her re-recorded version of her 2008 hit Love Story.
