The Golden Globes 2021 brought some great fashion moments even though it was virtual, but one of the style highlights came courtesy of Jeff Daniels who tuned in for his award category sporting a dressed down look.

The Dumb and Dumber star was nominated for best performance by an actor in a limited series or motion picture made for television for his performance in The Comey Rule.

On Sunday night he joined other nominees including Hugh Grant and Mark Ruffalo, appearing from home, to hear who had won.

He lost out to the Avengers: Endgame star but he won for his choice of outfit, a simple blue checked shirt.

Viewers tuning in appreciated his casual appearance with many joking that he had hopped on Zoom from the spare room in his house.

‘Jeff Daniels serving ‘this could have been an email’ read one appreciative comment.

Another said: ‘If Jeff Daniels isn’t included in tomorrow’s Best Dressed at the Golden Globes lists, I’m going to be very upset.’

A further tweet read: ‘appreciate that jeff daniels’s golden globes setup looks like he excused himself from dinner to do a quick zoom call in the guest bedroom’ whole another simply said: ‘Jeff Daniels with the look of the night’.

The man himself was loving all the feedback and shared his style secret in a tweet which read: ‘Congrats to Mark Ruffalo and a special thanks to the #Golden Globes for allowing me to fulfil a life long dream of going to an Awards Show wearing Carhartt.’

With the A-listers beaming in from home, Jeff wasn’t the only one to take advantage and get comfy.

John Boyega opted for tracksuit bottoms on the night while Jason Sudekis sported an eye-catching tie-dye hoodie.
