Katie Price has said she ‘feels so lucky’ that she’s still able to ride her horses, after breaking both feet in a freak accident, and she was seen getting back in the saddle while heading out with boyfriend Carl Woods over the weekend.

The former glamour model, 42, has previously credited horse-riding for being ‘mentally’ good for her and her love for all things horses has even spilled over into her business ventures.

As well as owning her very own bright pink horse box and her own stables, Katie formerly launched her own equestrian line that she was later forced to shut down due to financial struggles and has since said she hopes to revive.

It’s no surprise then that mum-of-five Katie seemed thrilled to get back on her horse on Sunday, as she was spotted horse riding while boyfriend Carl cycled alongside her.

Decked out in her quilted jacket and riding helmet, Katie certainly looked the part as she ditched her medical boots for lace-up boots.

Last year, Katie revealed she had broken both her feet in a freak accident while on holiday in Turkey.

She was forced to undergo a gruelling six-hour long surgery, with doctors revealing they had to carry out more procedures than they first thought were needed, after assessing the damage.

Carl, who kept a watchful eye on Katie during her horse ride, has been helping her through her recovery, with the TV star told by doctors that she’ll never be able to run again and will be in ‘pain for life’ following her 20ft horror fall.

She is, however, allowed to ride and Katie was first spotted getting back on a horse, earlier this month.

Sharing a video of her riding around a paddock with her Instagram followers, Katie revealed: ‘I’ve feel so lucky that I can’t run ever again but I can still ride my horses which is my passion and so good for me mentally 😍😍😍 (sic).’

Her return to the stables came after Katie explained that she is now considered to be ‘disabled for life’ due to the damage to her feet and ankles.

While recovering, Katie has spent most of her time in a wheelchair and wearing medical boots on both feet, but she has begun to tentatively walk short distances.

Opening up about her recovery on ITV’s Loose Women, Katie said she was determined not to let her injuries get the better of her.

She explained that she can only be on her feet for 20 minutes a day and recalled how doctors told her that if she had landed differently from the fall, her situation could be much worse.

‘[The doctors] said for life I will be in pain, I will get arthritis, I don’t want to rely on painkillers – that’s not me. It is absolutely life-changing,’ Katie said.

‘They say if it was on my back it would have been paralysing and if it was on my head, I would have been dead.’

Since her accident, Katie has made a return to TV and featured in a documentary exploring her close relationship with eldest son Harvey, 18, and the daily challenges she faces caring for him.

Katie Price: Harvey and Me followed Katie’s search for a residential college for the teen, who has Prader-Willi syndrome and autism among other conditions.

Viewers were blown away by the documentary, after gaining an insight into Katie’s family life, and widely praised the star for being an ‘exceptionally brilliant mum’ to Harvey.
