WATCH: Roger Federer’s Luxurious Under Construction House in Rapperswil-Jona
A few years back, Roger Federer bought a 16,000 square meter plot of land in the Rapperswil-Jona area. Currently, the property is under construction, overlooking the shores of the beautiful Lake Zurich.
Presently, Federer lives in a luxurious three-story house in Zurich worth $8.1 million (£6.5 million). However, he plans to shift to his new property in Rapperswil after the construction completes.
Recently, the author of the book ‘Footsteps of Federer’, Dave Seminara uploaded an Instagram video on his account to show a tour of Federer’s under-construction house.
The video gives a glimpse of the vast plot of land which provides a picturesque view of the mountain range at the back. Seminara shows the cranes and other construction material at the area of the site.
While giving the tour, Seminara speculated the worth of the land to be around $40 million. As the author walked down the street, he came across a few barns right in front of Federer’s property.
Jokingly, Seminara mentioned Federer might tear down the small buildings and convert them into storage rooms for his trophies instead.
The rich neighborhood of Roger Federer
In the opulent neighborhood, Federer finds the company of Jorge Paulo Lemann, one of the world’s richest people. Having a net worth of $17.2 billion, Lemann very lives close to the Swiss Maestro’s new property in Rapperswil.
Interestingly, Lemann was a professional tennis player and competed at the 1962 Wimbledon Championships. Being a Swiss-Brazilian citizen, Lemann played the Davis Cup on behalf of the Swiss team as well as the Brazilian team.
Having close ties with Federer, Lemann also is a co-investor in the Laver Cup. The 20-time Grand Slam champion often practices on the grass court at Lemann’s Rapperswil residence.
Apart from owning multiple properties in Switzerland, Federer also has a residence in Dubai since 2006.
