Demi Lovato has showed off the results of ‘accidentally’ losing weight and hit out at ‘diet culture’.

The singer shared the lifestyle changes she has made, telling fans she isn’t strict with herself about what she eats and keeps active in moderation.

On Instagram she shared a short video of herself in the mirror posing up in a crop top and pair of loose-fitting trousers

‘Accidentally lost weight. I don’t count calories anymore. I don’t over exercise any more,’ she said.

‘I don’t restrict or purge and I especially I don’t live my life accordingly to the diet culture [sic]…and I’ve actually lost weight.

The Skyscraper singer continued: ‘This is a different experience but I feel full not of food but of divine wisdom and cosmic guidance.

‘Peace, serenity, joy and love.’

The star has been open about her battle with an eating disorder in the past, but is more comfortable in her body, recently sharing a photoshoot on Instagram to celebrate her stretchmarks.

Demi said: ‘In honour of my gratitude for the place I’m in today, this was a lil shoot I did by myself in quarantine this summer when I wanted to celebrate my stretch marks instead of being ashamed of them.

‘I started wearing actual glitter paint on my stretch marks to celebrate my body and all of it’s features (whether society views them as good OR bad) My stretch marks aren’t going away so might as well throw a lil glitter on em’ amiright?

‘Also let this be a reminder to anyone who doesn’t think it’s possible: IT ACTUALLY IS . YOU CAN DO IT. I BELIEVE IN YOU.

‘This year was tough.. be gentle on yourself if you slip up and remember to get right back on track because you’re WORTH THE MIRACLE OF RECOVERY. I LOVE YOU.’

The singer is set to open up about her near-fatal overdose in 2018 for a new documentary Demi Lovato: Dancing With The Devil.

She revealed cheated death by minutes in the terrifying incident, saying in a trailer for the programme: ‘I had three strokes, I had a heart attack. My doctors said that I had five to ten more minutes.

‘I’ve had a lot of lives, like my cat, you know? I’m on my ninth life. I’m ready to get back to doing what I love, which is making music.’
