Towie star Kirk Norcross returns to social media to share selfie back at work following dad’s death
Towie star Kirk Norcross returned to social media to reveal he is back at work, a month after the death of his dad Mick.
Sugar Hut owner and reality star Mick died at his home in Brentwood, Essex, aged 57, in January.
News of his death had shocked fans and his former Towie co-stars, with the Essex businessman survived by son Kirk and Kirk’s two children.
Kirk, who was an original cast member on Towie when it first aired in 2010, hasn’t publicly addressed his dad’s death, but reassured fans he was ‘getting back to what he loves’ as he returned to work.
Taking to his business account on Instagram, KN Jet Services, Kirk posted a selfie of him at work and told followers: ‘Feels good to be doing what I enjoy again.’
While comments appeared to be turned off on Kirk’s post, fans were seen reaching out to the Essex star on other posts, with many hoping the star was doing ok.
Their comments didn’t go unnoticed by Kirk, who thanked fans for their support but stressed that his business page was purely for things related to his jet-washing company.
Posting via the page’s Instagram story, Kirk said: ‘Hi guys, thank you for all the messages but this is a business page purely for my business. Thank you.’
Kirk’s personal Instagram account has remained inactive since December 2019.
Tributes flooded in for Mick last month following his death, with many fans and celebrities alike, including former Towie star Mario Falcone, sharing how heartbroken they were.
Mario revealed that Mick’s death had ‘hurt him the most’, as he credited Mick for being there for him when he was struggling with his mental health and battling depression.
‘I’ve been very upset. Probably out of everybody I’ve ever lost, this is the one that’s hurt me the most – just because it was someone I really looked up to and it has come as a really big shock to me,’ Mario told The Sun.
‘I had so much love for him and he was such a nice man. This has been particularly hard.’
Mick starred on Towie between 2011 and 2014 and featured on 53 episodes of the reality series. He made his debut in season two, making appearances alongside Kirk and other castmembers up until season eight.
The businessman was known for his father-son chats with Kirk and his show romances with the likes of Chloe Sims and Maria Fowler.
Gemma Collins was also seen falling for Mick and famously baked him an apple pie which she left on his doorstep in early scenes that aired on the show.
In 2013, Mick decided to leave reality TV behind and said on his exit that he felt being a part of Towie was damaging his nightclub’s brand.
Sugar Hut was a regular filming location for the show, with Mick telling The Sun at the time: ‘My club is an upmarket venue where people come to drink champagne and feel spoiled.
‘All these rows they keep filming don’t show the club in a good light and I’m worried it’s putting people off coming, which is the last thing I want.’
Following Towie, he continued as Sugar Hut’s owner and also worked as a property developer while stepping away from the public eye.
