Katie Price backs Ant Middleton after Channel 4 axe as she’d work with him again ‘at drop of a hat’
Katie Price has backed Ant Middleton after he was axed from SAS: Who Dares Wins by Channel 4, with the star saying she’d work with him again ‘at the drop of a hat’.
Channel 4 said in a statement that it would no longer work with the former Special Forces soldier due to his ‘personal conduct’, although Ant later insisted he had walked away from the show.
Katie, who worked closely with Ant on the celebrity version of SAS: Who Dares Wins, told The Sun: ‘I would do another show with him at the drop of a hat.’
Her rep added to the publication: ‘Katie looks back on her time on SAS: Who Dares Wins with fondness. It was, in Ant’s words, “no s*** banter and tough love” that Katie found her strength, and fight.
‘After the show, she turned her life around and a year on, is smashing it.’
Mum-of-five Katie was forced to quit SAS: Who Dares Wins for medical reasons after her breast reduction became inflamed.
‘I pulled something in training,’ the 42-year-old explained at the time. ‘My breast reduction became inflamed but I was cleared medically as fit.
‘It was out of my control – I was gutted.’
Meanwhile, Ant and his officers, Ollie Ollerton, Jason Fox, Mark Billingham, and Jay Morton didn’t make life easy for Katie – at all. From shouting at the former glamour model for coughing to highlighting her as the weakest member of the pack, they went in.
However, she made it clear at the time that she was keen to return.
Channel 4 recently announced that it had cut all ties from Ant, with a spokesperson telling Metro.co.uk in a statement: ’Ant Middleton will not be taking part in future series of SAS: Who Dares Wins.
‘Following a number of discussions Channel 4 and Minnow Films have had with him in relation to his personal conduct it has become clear that our views and values are not aligned and we will not be working with him again.’
However, Ant later said: ‘I think that ultimately what has happened is that the people that make the show and I have very different opinions on where the show started and where it is going in the future.’
The 40-year-old added that the series has become ‘more of a reality show than I feel comfortable with.’
‘I have decided to walk away from it, it is clear Channel 4 and I have fallen out over it and that is regretful,’ he continued to The Sun.
‘I have butted heads with some of the team but ultimately it is out of a passion for what I wanted to do and that’s make the best show possible.’
SAS: Who Dares Wins is due to return to Channel 4 this year.
