Line of Duty’s long-awaited return for season six is a total game-changer, according to Adrian Dunbar and Vicky McClure, who have warned episode one kicks off with a huge shock.

It’s been two years since the season five finale dropped the huge revelation that H is made up of four crooks, with AC-12 on the hunt for the final criminal who walks among them.

Tonight, Vicky and Adrian – who star as Kate Fleming and Ted Hastings respectively – appear on The Graham Norton Show, where they spilled the most insightful spoiler for series six yet.

Shedding light on the opening scenes, Adrian revealed: ’18 months have passed so the landscape has completely changed.

‘We are starting from a place that the audience will probably find a bit shocking at first.

‘Things and people have been moved around so the first episode is going to be one of those “head-wrecks” for the audience.’

What does it all mean?

Thankfully, there’s not too much longer until we find out as BBC dropped a teaser announcing the Line of Duty series 6 release date.

What’s more, fans think the clip may have dropped a huge clue pointing at Kate being the final H.

Line of Duty will return to BBC One on Sunday March 21, which cannot come soon enough.

After slight delays to filming due to the coronavirus pandemic, order was eventually restored, and against all odds, the cast – including the addition of Kelly MacDonald as new recruit DCI Joanne Davidson – was back to work.

There will also be an extended series with seven episodes on the way instead of the traditional six we’ve become accustomed to.

Line of Duty series one to five are available to catch up on BBC iPlayer.
