Eugenie Bouchard

Former World No.5 Eugenie Bouchard didn’t have a great start in the 2021 tennis season. She lost in the qualifiers of the Australian Open 2021 and couldn’t qualify for the main event. However, there is some good news for fans as the Canadian star recently earned a ticket in the finals of the Lyon Open 2021 doubles finals.

Eugenie Bouchard lost in the first round of the Lyon Open 2021 in the singles category. She suffered a humiliating defeat as Aliaksandra Sasnovich defeated her in straight sets. The final scoreline of the match was 7-6, 6-2.

However, the tennis beauty has shown some exceptional skills while playing her matches in the doubles category. Partnering with Olga Danilovic in the Lyon Open 2021, she recently managed to reach the finals of the tournament.

The two defeated Renata Voracova and Makoto Ninomiya in the semis. They will now face the pair of Arantxa Rus and Viktoria Kuzmova in the finals. Fans certainly have great expectations from the Bouchard and want her to win her first title of the 2021 tennis season tomorrow.

Will Eugenie Bouchard be able to climb herself up in the WTA rankings?

Eugenie Bouchard is currently at the 143rd position in the WTA rankings. Even though the doubles finals will help her gain some spots in the rankings in the doubles category, she’ll have to play well in the singles category as well in order to climb some spots in WTA rankings.

Bouchard last played a final at the Istanbul Open 2020 where she ended up as the runner-up. The Canadian star lost to Patricia Maria Tig and hasn’t been in the best of her form since then.

Bouchard will certainly want to win the Lyon Open 2021 title as it’ll give her some confidence before her next matches. Fans still have a lot of expectations from her and want her to win a major this season. Will Bouchard be able to stun everyone and win a singles title this year?
