Everything we know about Meghan and Harry’s Netflix deal
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix deal was announced last year, but little has been revealed so far about what their content will entail.
Last September, it was revealed that Harry and Meghan had signed a deal with the streamer to produce documentaries, films and children’s programmes.
The pair said in a statement at the time: ‘Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope.
‘As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.’
With the focus having been on Meghan and Harry’s upcoming tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, which will be broadcast on ITV from 9pm on Monday evening, little has yet been revealed about their own programming.
The couple were hoping to use Netflix’s ‘unprecedented reach’ to share ‘impactful content that unlocks action’.
It is also as yet unknown whether Meghan or Harry will appear on camera on whether they will just produce the shows.
Netflix has last year that there were already several projects in development including an innovative nature docuseries and an animated series that celebrates inspiring women.
The couple are also said to have signed a deal for a number of years, for an unconfirmed sum, after holding talks with various other global entertainment companies.
Meghan and Harry have also set up a production company to create their films and documentaries, which are committed to diverse hiring practices for its key roles, Netflix indicated at the time.
While their Netflix offering is still very much under wraps, the couple’s interview with Oprah Winfrey has become one of the most-anticipated television moments of the year.
The no-holds-barred interview will be the first time the couple have spoken out in-depth about the circumstances around their decision to step down from their roles as Royals.
